Product Description

II. Product Description
The Type IV spring clip fastening system is a shoulderless and boltless fastening system designed for ballasted tracks with prestressed concrete sleepers without shoulders to meet the operating conditions of passenger dedicated lines and in accordance with the “Interim Technical Conditions for Fastening Systems of Passenger Dedicated Lines”. It is optimized and improved through years of in-depth research and a large number of tests on the basis of the original Type III spring clip fastening system.
The Type IV spring clip fastening system has been optimized and improved in the following key aspects:
  1. Further optimize the structure of the spring clip to reduce its working stress and residual deformation.
  2. Adopt UIC standards for the physical properties of rubber base plates to be in line with international standards.
  3. To achieve accurate adjustment of the gauge, the numbers of insulated gauge blocks are configured in increments of 1mm.

IV. Structural Characteristics

Like the Type III fastening system, the Type IV fastening system is a boltless fastening system and belongs to an elastic non-separable fastening system without concrete shoulders on sleepers. It has the advantages of fewer parts, compact structure, large clamping force, strong ability to maintain gauge, and less maintenance workload. It is especially suitable for lines using large-scale mechanical operations. Its main structural characteristics are as follows:

  1.  Pre-embedded iron seats are embedded in advance when making concrete sleepers. The spring clip presses the rail by inserting into the pre-embedded iron seat without bolt fastening.
  2. Insulated gauge blocks are set between the shoulder of the pre-embedded iron seat and the rail to adjust the gauge and play an insulating role. Adjustment of the left and right positions of the rail can be achieved by replacing insulated gauge blocks of different numbers.
  3. A rubber base plate is set between the rail and the rail-bearing surface of the concrete sleeper to play an insulating, buffering, and damping role.
  4.  The fastening system is used in conjunction with prestressed concrete sleepers without shoulders. The structure of the Type IV fastening system can be installed on the original Type IIIb prestressed concrete sleepers.
