In France, ballastless tracks adopt the same Nabla clip fastening system as ballasted tracks. Under the sleepers or under the concrete supporting blocks, boot-type elastic cushions are used to replace (simulate) the elastic fasteners provided by ballast beds. The Nabla clip fastening system is used on the French TGV high-speed line. The elastic supporting block ballastless track in the English Channel Tunnel is an example of French ballastless tracks. The Nabla clip fastening system is also the application of complete ballasted track fastening technology on ballastless tracks.
